Turn a Word document into a presentation
Upload a term paper, a report or a handbook through “Import” — Folia reads the file, spreads it across slides and builds a deck with charts and artwork.
Your document — in any of 24 templates
How to make a presentation from a file — three steps
No copying and pasting out of the document: Folia pulls the text, the headings and the tables from the file itself.
Upload the document
Press “Import” in the field and choose “Document”: Word .docx and PDF both work, and so do Markdown, Excel spreadsheets and mind maps.
Check the outline
Folia reads the document, asks who the deck is for and proposes an outline built from its sections. Drop what you do not need, move what is out of order.

Sections become slides, tables become charts, conclusions become headlines. Edit in the editor and download as PPTX or PDF.
From a document — to slides, not a copy of the pages
A Word page does not read on a screen. Folia takes the structure and the main points out of the document and leaves the detail for the speaker notes — the way a person would when prepping for a defense or a review.
Headings become the outline
Folia sees the headings and lists in your document and builds the outline from them: the sections of the deck stay yours.Tables become charts
Tables from Word come through as rows of numbers, and Folia charts them — with data you can edit in the editor.Detail moves to the notes
Two to four bullets on the slide; what you say out loud sits in the speaker notes, drawn from the document itself.

All plans and what each pack includesQuestions about a deck from a document
Press “Import” in the field, choose “Document” and upload the .docx file. Folia reads it, asks who the deck is for and shows a slide outline built from the document’s sections. Confirm it and the deck is built with charts, artwork and speaker notes.
Word .docx and PDF, Markdown and plain text, Excel and CSV spreadsheets, and XMind, FreeMind and OPML mind maps. The old Word .doc format is not read — open the file in Word and save it as .docx. Files can be up to 20 MB.
Folia works with up to 24,000 characters, roughly 12 pages of ordinary text. For a longer document, keep the chapters that matter: anything past the limit does not make it into the deck.
No. Each slide gets a takeaway headline and two to four bullets, numbers move into charts, and explanations go into the speaker notes. Terms, names and figures stay as written, and any slide can be edited afterwards.
Tables are read — Folia charts the numbers in them. Images from the document do not carry over: the AI draws its own for the meaning of the slide, and you can add the diagram or photo you need in the editor through “Image from your computer”.
Yes, the same way: “Import” → “Document” and pick the PDF. Files with a text layer read best — the ones exported from Word or another editor. A scan with no recognized text will not work.
No. The document is read in memory to pull the text out of it and then dropped — the file itself is not kept.
The first one, yes: after you create an account, one presentation builds for free and no card is needed. The free build covers the first 8 slides and keeps a watermark; removing it and downloading the file comes with a subscription or a one-time unlock for that deck. After that, builds are paid with tokens, which are shared with every other AI tool on the service.
You can upload a file and look through the settings without signing in, but building the deck needs an account. Sign in with Google or your email.
As PPTX for PowerPoint, as PDF, as PNG images, or straight into Google Slides. Decks built with tokens download at no extra cost; the first free one downloads with a subscription or after a one-time unlock.
Word to presentation: from a doc or PDF without retyping
The paper, the report or the handbook is already written in Word — all that is left is the deck. Usually that means copying chunks of text onto slides, cutting them down, rebuilding the tables and hunting for a look. Folia does that part: you upload the document, the AI builds the presentation from it, and you review and edit.
Turn a Word document into a presentation with AI
Folia reads a Word file together with its structure: chapter headings, lists and tables. The headings become the slide outline, the tables become charts, and each section gives up its main point for a slide headline. That is how a doc-to-deck conversion takes a couple of minutes instead of an evening of retyping.
Word to PowerPoint, online
Everything happens on the page: the document goes in through “Import” in the field, and there is nothing to install. Besides Word, Folia takes PDF, Markdown, Excel spreadsheets and mind maps, and the finished deck downloads as a PPTX you can keep editing in PowerPoint. The first presentation is free once you create an account; after that, builds are paid with tokens shared with every other AI tool on the service.
What an AI should do with a document
A good document-to-deck AI does not copy pages onto slides — it does what a seasoned presenter does: leaves a takeaway and a few bullets on the slide and moves the detail into the notes. Your terms, names and numbers stay as written, the artwork is drawn for the meaning of each slide, and the look comes from the template you picked.
