This is the minimum for the bed with aisles. Add a wardrobe or walk-in (2–4 m²), room for the door swing (90 cm radius) and a window. A comfortable bedroom is at least +4–6 m² above the table figure.
Rules designers check first. Especially important for a small bedroom — no room for a do-over.
Headboard to a solid wall, not the window, not feet toward the door. The wall behind the head must be structural (not drywall), or you'll hear the neighbours. Feet-to-door is superstition, but psychologically uncomfortable.
Aisles 60–70 cm on both sides of the bed. In a small bedroom — honestly on one side; the other can be 20 cm and 'squeeze past'. Wardrobe over second nightstand if you must choose.
Wardrobe not opposite the window. Mirrored sliding doors glare in sunlight; glossy fronts produce hard reflections. Wardrobe on a side or opposite-to-window wall.
Nightstands at least 40 cm wide with outlets at bed level. Under 40 cm — no room for lamp, book and phone together. Outlets — at headboard height, two per side, so no cords across the bed.
TV at eye level lying down, 1.5–2 screen diagonals from the bed. Lying down the line of sight sits higher than seated — mount the screen centre at 120–140 cm from the floor. Too low — neck strain; too close — eye strain; too far — can't read subtitles.
