What it is based on

The summary of the standards the section works to is here so you can check us and answer why it is so. Details are in the sections above.

WhatStandardHow it is applied
Device symbols on the planGOST 21.210-2014sockets, switches, light fittings, panels and boxes use the standard's symbols
Contents of the lighting sheetGOST 21.608-2021, cl. 6.1.2, 6.1.3lighting and switches on one sheet Lighting and switches; sockets, tie-in and wiring on separate sheets (cl. 6.1.3 allows this for a large number of lines)
Link between switches and light fittings, circuit numbersGOST 21.608-2021, Table B.1, cl. 4 and 5link lines on the lighting sheet; C{n} at light fittings and sockets
Sheet scaleGOST 2.302auto takes the largest standard scale at which the plan fits on the sheet
Permissible cable currentGOST R 50571.5.52-2011 (IEC 60364-5-52), Table B.52.2, B.52.4; temperature and grouping corrections: B.52.14, B.52.17circuit cable against the breaker rating; cable from the main distribution board against the main breaker (method B2)
Voltage dropSP 256.1325800.2016, cl. 8.23; conductor resistance per GOST R 50571.5.52-2011, Annex Glighting ≤ 3 %, everything else ≤ 4 % from the main distribution board; copper 0.0225, aluminium 0.036 Ω·mm²/m
Mains voltageGOST 29322230 / 400 V
Breakers: curves B, C, DGOST IEC 60898-1instantaneous trip 3–5, 5–10, 10–20 In: tripping on a short circuit at the end of the line, motor starting; selectivity with the main breaker at 1.13 and 1.45 In
Cable withstand in a short circuitGOST R 50571.4.43-2012, cl. 434.5.2k²S² not less than the breaker's I²t, if I²t is given
RCD selectivityGOST R 50571.5.53-2013, cl. 535.3incoming RCD: type S and leakage current not less than three times the circuit RCD currents
Leakage downstream of an RCDPUE, 7th ed., cl. 7.1.83no more than a third of the RCD current; 0.4 mA per ampere of load and 10 µA per metre of phase conductor
Aluminium in a buildingPUE, 7th ed., cl. 7.1.34cable from the main distribution board in aluminium from 16 mm²
Bathroom and showerGOST R 50571.7.701-2013, cl. 701.415.1 (2024 ed.: cl. 701.4.1)all circuits of such a room under a 30 mA RCD or RCBO; a separate line there with an RCBO
Electric underfloor heatingGOST R 50571-7-753-2013 (IEC 60364-7-753)thermostat on its own line under a 30 mA RCBO
Route near pipesPUE, 7th ed., cl. 2.1.56–2.1.57the auto route keeps 10 cm from pipes and risers, 40 cm from gas
Cable allowance in the estimateSP 76.13330.2016 (update of SNiP 3.05.06-85), cl. 6.4.1.10 and 6.3.1.152 % of the route length (norm 1–2 %) and ends at devices: 50 mm plus the box depth, 150 mm at a light fitting
Floor and ceiling levelsGOST 21.501, SP 54 (floor height model)cable rises and drops to devices, height of ceiling devices

What the person sets, not the standard (the editor does not know this and does not make it up):

  • starting currents of devices with a motor, device power ratings, demand factors;
  • short-circuit current at the input, breaking capacity and I²t of the breakers from the datasheet and connection conditions;
  • cable from the main distribution board and temperature along the route;
  • spare space in the panel enclosure (20 % by default): a project setting; depth of the flush mounting boxes for the estimate;
  • prices, brands and article numbers in the estimate.

What we do not check and why:

  • selectivity in a short circuit more precisely than the limit of the main breaker's instantaneous trip: this needs the curves of a specific manufacturer;
  • the width of the AFDD and of the changeover switch of a specific model: the catalogue has typical modules.
