How to assign a wall a type with layers

WhereWall windowType row

Steps

  1. Click the wall.
  2. In the Type row, choose a type from the list.
  3. The wall takes the thickness of the type, and on the plan each layer is hatched with its own material. The insulation of the ready-made types goes on the outdoor side.
  4. If the layers ended up on the wrong side, click Flip layers.
  5. The composition of the type is edited in the same place with the Edit layers button: the name, material and thickness of each layer, Add layer, the trash can next to a layer. The thickest layer is considered the structure.

Good to know

  • A ready-made type is copied into the project. All walls of the type have the same thickness and composition: editing the composition changes all of them at once.
  • The Thickness and Core fields are greyed out for a wall with a type. To set them manually, choose No type: the thickness and core will stay.
  • In the 3D view, a wall with a type has the same color and thickness, and the layers are not visible there.
  • Walls without finish in Project settings hides plaster and insulation on the plan. Room dimensions are still measured to the finished faces.
