How to place a riser, ventilation duct or column

Steps
- Choose a tile.
- Move the cursor over the plan. A preview follows it: the same symbol that will be placed on the drawing, in blue.
- Click. The item is placed and selected.

After placement, the item can be moved with the mouse, and its size, position and rotation can be edited in the properties window on the right.
Good to know
- For structures and utilities, the window has a Stage row: existing, to be demolished or new. A column to be demolished disappears from the After plan, and a new duct is not visible on the measurement plan. See Renovation Stages.
- Columns, ventilation ducts, chimneys and elevators are subtracted from the room area: on the plan and the area in the room window are shown without them. A column recessed into a wall is subtracted only by the part that protrudes. Risers do not reduce the area.
