Where an item can go
Some items can only be placed in their own spot. If there is no suitable spot under the cursor, the ghost item is red. Click does not place the item: a message appears explaining why.
| Item | Where it goes | If there is no spot |
|---|---|---|
| Wall-mounted: hooks, hanger panels, shelves, mirrors and pictures, wall cabinets, range hoods by a wall, wall-hung sinks and toilet, towel warmers, curtains, wall-mounted TV, boiler, wall lamp | On a wall only: bring the cursor closer than 60 cm to the wall. The item goes with its back onto the wall face and immediately at its own height (hooks at 170 cm, wall cabinet at 140, the top of a sink at 85) | …can only be hung on a wall |
| Built-in: sinks, hobs, a hood in the countertop, a countertop bowl sink | In a countertop only: on a base kitchen cabinet, an island, a countertop or a sink vanity unit. Not on a dining table or a desk | …is cut into the countertop |
| Tabletop: kettle, microwave, coffee machine, monitor, printer, desk lamp, vases and candles | On a table, a cabinet or a countertop, on their top | …goes on a table, cabinet or countertop |
| Only into a ready niche: into a cabinet with an empty niche (Base unit for a built-in oven, Tall unit for a built-in oven, Tall unit for a built-in oven and microwave; on the plan they have an appliance icon in a dashed frame) or into a cabinet where the appliance is already drawn (Tall cabinet with oven, cabinets and tall units with a microwave), and then the model replaces the drawn one. It goes into this section with its front flush with the facade and does not stick out past its cabinet | …can only be built into a ready niche | |
| Inside a base cabinet with doors, under the sink | …goes inside a base cabinet |
What is important to know
- You can adjust the height at which the item was placed later: in the properties window (Z) or in 3D.
- On the plan, when you drag such an item, it moves only along its supports: a wall-mounted item along the walls, at the height it was already given, and a sink along the countertops. If you move the cursor away from the supports, the item stays in its previous place, and when you release the button, a message appears.
- A sink on a cabinet is cut in in 3D: there is a cutout in the countertop, and you can see a metal bowl with a drain. The cutout is made if the bowls fit entirely over the cabinet. A double sink on a narrow cabinet will stay flat: put it on a wider cabinet.
- In 3D you can move an item with the gizmo anywhere: this is manual fitting.
