How to place radiators
WhereWater and heating
Steps
- Mark out the rooms in the Plan: the room type (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom) sets the temperature and the ventilation rate.
- Above the tiles are the steps of the section. In the Heaters step, click Place: a radiator will be placed under each window of a room with heat loss, with its power taken from the calculation.
- You can also place a radiator manually: the or Convectors row. It snaps to the wall with its back.
- Under the radiator symbols there is a Show 3D models button with ready-made models. A model is placed by the same radiator: with a symbol on the plan, in the calculation and snapping to the wall, and in 3D the model itself is visible. Boiler models in the row work the same way.
- In the heater window, in the Heating and ventilation block, enter the power from the data sheet and the temperature head it is given at: 70 °C for a Russian data sheet (GOST), 50 °C for a European catalog. Under the field you can see how much is needed according to the calculation.
What is important to know
- There are sectional, panel, cast-iron, tubular and vertical radiators, and convectors: floor, in-floor, electric. On the plan a radiator is drawn as a rectangle, a convector with a line inside, an in-floor one with a half filled in (GOST 21.205).
- For an electric convector the power is set in the Power draw field, and no pipes are needed for it. A radiator placed in the Plan is also taken into account by the calculation.
- The radiator leader: above the line the number of sections (for a panel radiator and a convector, the length, mm), below the line the power, kW (GOST 21.602, cl. 6.1.9 k). Section pitch: bimetal 80 mm, cast iron 93 mm, tubular 45 mm.
- A radiator is also needed in a bathroom with a window: a water towel warmer does not replace it if the heat loss is noticeable (SP 30, cl. 9.8).
