Steps

  1. Choose the type: Straight, L-shaped or Spiral.
  2. Move the cursor over the plan. A preview of the staircase follows it: outline, steps and the arrow showing the way up.
  3. Click. The click point marks the spot where you step onto the first step.

The staircase can be placed both on the plan and in 3D. In 3D it is placed on the floor with a click.

Good to know

  • A floor above is not required: you can place the staircase under a podium, a mezzanine or a future second level. In 3D, an opening is cut above it in the floor slab and the ceiling.
  • Steps are fitted to the space: the flight reaches the nearest wall and does not go into it. If space is tight: first the tread gets shorter, then there are fewer steps, but taller, within the stair rules. A number of steps or a tread set by hand in the window turns the fitting off.
  • If even the steepest staircase allowed by the rules does not fit, the preview is red, and below it says how much is needed and how much there is to the wall. You can still place it, but the staircase will be outlined in red until it is rotated, moved or an L-shaped one is chosen.
  • Walls with the To demolish stage and walls of other floors do not interfere with the fitting.
