The
Opening window
| Field | What it sets |
|---|---|
| The type of door or window, a list with icons | |
| Existing, to be demolished or new. See Renovation Stages | |
| Open or closed. Only for doors with a sash | |
Which side the door or window sash is hung on. For a balcony unit this row is called Door: which side the door is on | |
| Inward or outward. For a window, Inward means into the room | |
| The dimensions of the opening | |
| The height of the bottom of the window above the floor. Only for windows | |
| The height of the top of the window from the floor. Editing it moves the top, the sill stays in place | |
| The distances from the wall corners on the left and on the right. The icon between the fields puts the opening in the center | |
| Only for windows: from the outer face of the wall to the frame. The icon next to it returns the frame to the full thickness of the wall | |
| Selects all identical openings on the floor: of the same type and size | |
| Duplicate icon | Places an identical opening further along the same wall. Ctrl+D does the same |
| Deletes the opening |
What is important to know
- An opening moves only along its own wall and does not go past the wall's corners.
- While no setback is set, the window frame takes the full thickness of the wall. With a setback the frame is thin, the sill extends from it into the room, and a drip edge appears on the outside. The glass on the plan shifts the same way.
- The hinges and the opening direction of a window are visible on the plan for a balcony door, a balcony unit and a French window, and for an ordinary window only in 3D.
- If you shorten a wall so that the opening no longer fits, the wall change will not be applied.
