How dimension numbers are read
- Dimensions per GOST: 45° ticks at the ends and at every joint of the chain, the number above the line in the middle. A vertical dimension reads from bottom to top, with the number to the left of the line.
- If there is no room for the number, it goes beyond the end of the line, higher with a leader, or onto a shelf. The number does not overlap another number, a wall or an object, and does not go outside the room.
- The width and length of a room are shown as a line from wall to wall, at the top and left walls. If an object occupies the middle, the line moves into the room to a free strip.
- An identical dimension is placed once: what the outer chain showed is not repeated from the inside. The door width stays in the larger room.
- A short piece of wall by a door or window, where the number does not fit or furniture covers the line, is not drawn. It is visible when the door or window is selected.
- Unit: a new project in the Russian version is in millimeters, in the English version in feet, in the others in centimeters; the chosen unit is remembered in the project. All numbers on the plan use one unit; millimeters have no unit label, as on a drawing. Heights on badges are always without a unit label: in millimeters, in centimeters, in meters.
- Length fields in windows are also in the project unit: furniture dimensions and distances, heights and drops in Finishes, box width, Ground level, Plan cut height, stair rules. Tile joint, plaster thickness and waterproofing turn-up are always written in millimeters, as in material data sheets.
- In Drawings and in the album, dimensions are always in millimeters, as GOST requires. The unit switch there changes only the fields in windows.
- Dimensions shrink and grow together with the plan. If the digits cannot be read, they are not drawn: zoom in on the plan.
